I have over 3 years of experience as a private Mathematics and Science tutor, teaching students personalized one-on-one lessons. Throughout my tutoring experience, I have worked with numerous students, helping them strengthen their fundamentals, improve problem-solving skills, and gain confidence. My teaching style focuses on simplifying complex concepts using clear, step-by-step explanations, interactive learning, and personalized lesson plans tailored to each student's needs. I also provide homework support, exam preparation, and practice worksheets to reinforce learning. My students have consistently shown improved understanding, confidence, and academic performance. In addition, I achieved Rank 2 in the SOF International Mathematics Olympiad (2016-2017), reflecting my strong mathematical foundation and passion for teaching.
Teaching approach
I believe that all children can be good at mathematics with the right guidance. I teach ideas in a step-by-step manner with simple methods, real life examples and visual learning so that students understand and not memorise. I try to make lessons interactive by asking questions, working through problems together and encouraging students to think for themselves. I regularly review progress, identify weak areas and provide targeted practice to build confidence and improve grades.
Your first lesson
The first lesson is about finding out where the student is at, what they are good at and what they need to work on. I'll discuss their goals, solve a few questions to assess their understanding, and create a personalized learning plan. At the end of the lesson, the student and parent will have a clear road map for improvement and know exactly what we will be working on together.
